Be Good Friends with Your Web Designer

If you have tried a number of different website design software packages, but still haven’t managed to create the website that you want, then it is time to bring in a professional web designer to help get your online dream underway.
However, before choosing the first designer you come across after seeing a flashy website with lots of testimonials, there are a few factors to consider which will help you with your long term online project.
The first is how local is your web designer?
Even though the internet makes the world a very small place and you could choose from web designers in India or even Australia, the best option in my opinion is to find a local design company that you can meet with face to face to discuss your exact requirements. This way you will get a feel of their professionalism and also whether or not you can work with the over the long term.
The easiest way to do this is to go to your favourite search engine and type web design followed by the town, city or area you are in (e.g. Web design London or web design Leeds). Decide on a distance radius that you are happy to travel within and then contact five different companies in that area – (from that five you should try to find two that are perfect for your needs). So, if for example you choose web design Leeds, use online mapping software to locate the places where each web designer is based in comparison to your own location.
The second thing you need to consider is charges for changes. Obviously, everybody has to make money, but if you need some slight tweaks making to your website, you don’t want to be paying for these tweaks every single time that you need them – especially if they can be done in minutes rather than hours. Try to choose a web designer that is fair and open to a long term business relationship with you rather than a short term cash gain.
Lastly, choose a web design company that is actually interested in and cares about your project. This way you will have a much better result from their work.
